Teamwork and the 3 Powers Connection!

Did you know we have 3 distinct powers at our disposal at anytime to create the life we want? Recently a good friend of mine Dave Kovar who is a 8th degree black belt asked me to help facilitate a team building retreat in the redwoods. I was asked to begin the retreat with a team building discussion that would prove to set the stage for stretching the comfort zone of thirty of the top martial arts instructors.

The weekend was designed to create a stronger connection between the instructors while strengthening each of their individual skills. I realized quickly I had my work cut out for me! The group I had the honor to work with was a group of some of the best and most disciplined martial artists in the WORLD! I opened our retreat evening around the campfire, I shared that we all have 3 powers to help us approach almost any situation with confidence. We must first start with knowing our own strengths and how they can be used together as a team. This idea truly set the stage for a powerful and transformational weekend.

The 1st power is our Elective Power. This power uses our own innate for initiation. The innate power can move us in the direction of our outcome or goal. This is the individual power that drives us.

Our 2nd power is our Connective Power. This is the power of how we relate to others. It is how we connect in any and ALL relationships and situations.

Our 3rd power is our Reflective Power. This is the power of making a difference in the world. We can use our elective power and connective power to strengthen our mission for good.  When all of these powers are used together transformation can take place.

When the weekend came to a close the entire group of individuals reflected on how they had truly connected at a much higher level than ever before. Everyone seemed to leave the retreat with more confidence, a stronger connection as a team, and a bigger mission to serve their communities. This goal was accomplished by using the framework of the three powers and applying it to each persons mission. Each individual was able to rise up to a higher level knowing that they could control their own power from within. The strength of knowing they could rise up as an individual and then as a team truly created a weekend of power and influence and I was truly blessed to be a part of the transformations. What goal can you use your three powers on to create a stronger mission and outcome?
